so if you dont like AB oR KK....then y do you spend time trashing them????.....hmm??....yeah...
yuuup....I agree.... I dont think Latinos bring eachother down itz just that society itself hasnt changed as much as maybe wed like it too....dayumz....but if you really think About it...everything in Latin music/art/acting...is at the top of itz game...people are into reggaeton and spanish rap now...and they're not only latinos... Para iluv_dru, I can respect your post and your opinions as you bring light to the topic. But what I can't respect is Trisha's trash talking, but hey that's cool - we do live in America and that is the beauty of free speech. The reason I responded to your post and hers is because you sound like someone that can listen to reason...you might not agree, but at least your post was confirmation that you have the ability to reason. I should have explained myself a little better...and not depended on everyone to read between the lines, it was all food for thought. BTW...I did not know that Trisha's "critiques" on music rivaled those of Rolling Stone or Latino Billboard Critics. Music Critics do just that...criticize the music based on the music...not on the personal experience they may have had with the artist. I demonstrated the difference between a NON music critic and a proffessional music critic -enjoy! Trisha's Critic: "I wasnt proud of anyone, my point is that Ive heard and seen so many things, BAD THINGS at that revolve around AB and the KK that I no longer respect them as an artist/group. " PROFESSIONAL CRITIC: "RACHAEL YAMAGATA" Album Title: Happenstance Producer(s): John Alagia Genre: POP Release Date: June 8 Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: June 26, 2004 Rachael Yamagata plays an emphatically rhythmic piano on "Happenstance," but her imploring, seductive voice is the dominant instrument. Like Rickie Lee Jones and Laura Nyro, two singer/ pianists she sometimes evokes, what counts is how the lyrics sound in the arrangements. Even the repeated words in the title of the opening song, "Be Be Your Love," suggest her rhythmic, percussive style of singing. Her writing can be exceptional. The centerpiece, "Worn Me Down," has an irresistible hook and an unforgettable melody. Yamagata also connects with primal emotions. On "Letter Read," Yamagata, skidding through lines like "I'm afraid and I can't breathe," sounds like she is hyperventilating. There's one bewildering song, "1963," in which Yamagata sings about having flowers in her hair. (Presumably, she means 1967.) But there's no denying the hungry songs of obsessive love that manage to be spooky, eternal and hip at the same time.—WR |

I haven't been reading any of the drama but it's such a coincidence that y'all are talking about how the band is viewed badly because of the behind-the-scenes happenings because recently I've been thinking about their new song Sabes A Chocolate. And y'all know what? I dig their song. It has a good beat, the lyrics are cool, and their voices sound good to me. If it weren't for all the drama that's been known to go down due to A.B. I think many more people would follow the Kumbia Kings and give their music a chance. I really don't think it sounds cheesy, at first I did but why? Because I was thinking about all the bad stuff A.B.'s done and blah blah blah. I actually think the Kings would work as like a band aimed for younger teens, a modern Menudo or something.
Okay so that's my 2 cents. What do y'all think? *WAITS TO GET BEAT UP This post has been edited by KuKa on Jun 22 2004, 08:48 PM |

I think the song is super cheesy... but seriously i'm starting to like it, ive had it all day in my head. All bad thoughts said aside, i still don't like the lil boy voice, it just dissapoints me so much that they're not how they were... you know the old school/tejano/hip hop style of music anymore... i don't know what they are.. and i am trying to give them a chance, but it isnt the same in my eyes they're going down. I agree with you kuka, about the whole younger audience thing. like that song sabes a chocolate, my 9 year old cousin loves it.
hmm... watch me get beat up by all these newbies that just register to defend kk... |

LoL Just because iluv_drew used my name in the same sentence as the phrase music critic Im suddenly a music critic? LMFAO! Uhm yeah ok...whatever. I never even SAID anything about the music my posts were about the group and the image its adopting. But yeah the song is ok, if you like listening to cds like "kids bop" and I agree that the group probably would appeal more to a YOUNGER audience now because of the young voice on lead. Ill admit I catch myself singing it sometimes but its not because I like it, its because its overplayed and sometimes annoying songs get stuck in your head and you sing them all damn day! Im sorry but in MY opinion, their current music style is NOT the music style they started out with. When the original members all left they took whatever it was the group had from the beginning with it.
