I was just wondering if a person from Mexico lived here in the Uniteds States and left to Mexico and forgot to take their American Identification cards with them. Will this person be able to come back to the United States without them?

Girl I don't know. Cause when my boyfriend first came to live in the United States he didn't have any American identification cards. He just barely got his this year back in February. But he had left them behind. But he said that he is gonna come back in a few weeks. He told me that he is able to cross the border when he goes to California. So i guess as long as he has his Green Card he'll be able to come back. Plus, My boyfriend said when he come back he is gonna fly.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee, forreals? Well, My dude said that they let him cross the border back and forth. From mexico to California. But he'll probably have to start all over since he left his American identification cards behind.

You have to have a passport to get back into the USA.Unless the person is a minor, then you need a birth certificate.

I dont mean to sound rude but this is a wacky question, anyone knows you cannot just cross the boder by saying your american and thats it. 18.gif

I don't really agree with Numba1Stunna cuz there has been numerous times that I have gone to Mexico and they just ask me if I am a citizen and I say yes and I get to cross. But you don't need a passport your birth certificate will do regardless if you are a minor or not. Cuz I always show my birth certificate when they ask to see it. So if this person has his or her birth certificate then they shouldnt have a problem coming back, and then they might just get lucking and ask them if they are citizen and if they say yes they might just let them pass I guess its all up to the boarder people and what part of Mexico too

If you stay so many miles from the border then you dont need a passport.Anyone over 18 who crosses into "deep" mexico has to get a passport in order to stay down there, the federal police can ask you for it anytime and at checkpoints if you dont have it you can be put in federal jail.If your flying there you need something that is sort of like a passport.

Its not like that anymore, since the federal goverment has taken over things are stricter. If you cross into laredo or a border city then all you need to get back is a birth cirtificate. But if your coming say from Mexico City, when you get up around Coahuila there will be a checkpoint were the federale's will ask for your passport.

^^^YEP. IF U GOING TO LAREDO OR ANY LITTLE TOWN IN MEXICO THAT AIN'T THAT FAR FROM THE BORDER THEN U DON'T NEED A PASSPORT BUT IT'S NICE TO HAVE ONE AT ALL TIMES. SOME OF MY COUSINS ARE FROM MEXICO AND THEY SAY AMERICAN CITIZENS AND IT'S LIKE NOTHING. SOMETIMES IF YOU ROLLING WITH AMERICAN CITIZENS (THAT SOUNDS FUNNY) THEY DON'T EVEN ASK YOU...WELL AT LEAST NOT US.
