Mp3 Players, Advice on Mp3 players

I am looking for an MP3 player and was wondering if you guys can recommend one. Is there anything in particular that I should be looking at? My budget is about AU$250 which is about US$170.

It looks like im takling to my self...

I'll narrow this down a bit more. The iPods and the Nomad Jukebox players are kinda out of my price range. At the moment it looks like I am heading towards an iRiver or a Creative MuVo. Anybody had bad experiences with either of these players?

Does anybody know anything about the Philips MP3 players? Some company called MeKoo are giving one away online for free. They poped up in a google search when I was searching for the iRivers and the MuVos.

Let's hope I guessed correctly.
