Ah, the wonderful Dimmu Borgir... where to start?

Let's see... Yesterday night, Wednesday, September first, I went and saw Dimmu Borgir (not with ozzfest, just a side tour for the cities they skipped during Ozzfest). There were a total of four bands that played. The first three were completely awful. All I could think to myself was how disgustingly nu-metal they sounded sconf.gif . The only one of these bands' names that I remember is Atreyu. Anyways, back to Dimmu Borgir. They played for about an hour and a half, and had blown the other bands away after playing their first song.

During the show, some of the songs they played were Vredesbyrd, Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, the Insight and the Catharsis, and Kings of the Carnival Creation. I had a front row view (though the guy next to me's hair was all over my face, imparing my vision!), and I was right in front of Galder (sometimes Silenoz when they switched places); so when songs were over, Galder flirted with the girls that he could see (not many girls at Dimmu shows...). On top of that excitement, they had such an awesome stage presence; overall. They were energetic and forcefull, as always (besides Mustis, who didn't look up once). Anyways, to sum it up, this is definitely a show worth seeing... these guys rocked as usual! rocking.gif

Damn you, I'd love to see dimmu live, i'll have to make it to one of those big metal fests at some stage. I had to settle for some local metal on Wed night, still good though. (Subtract, Frankenbok and 8 Foot Sativa)

Unlucky for us, we both live in NZ. The odds of Dimmu coming here are rather slim.
