I mean... I enjoy all genres of music, jazz, rock, pop, but lyrically the hip-hop artists that are coming out of the underground are completely out of control. Artists i speak of:
Aesop Rock
Eyedea
Sage Francis
Slug/Atmosphere
Murs
El-P
M.F. Doom
etc.

I also have a large amount of respect for the artists because occasionally they will use normal instruments for their beat. Their freestyle and battling abilities are unmatched as well. Please someone tell me they know what i am talking about.

(this is my opinion before you lot start getting violent!)

I wont listen to 'comercial' hip hop. Its all the same shit that comes out. Terms like bling bling, holla etc just annoy me. There is no talent in it. if you take artists like 7L, their beats and so lush and the lyrics are mental!

The main difference with underground/overground is the stuff their rappin about:

Overground - Clubs, Women, Cars and being a 'thug'.

Underground - Everyday Life. They could rap about the bus journey to work and they would make it interesting.

Thats my view on it.
