You know how in video clips and concerts and stuff - how some musicians destroy instruments? WHY DO THEY DO THAT! I'd rather they give them to me and I'll put them to good use!

I saw in a video clip a few months ago (i forgot who the artist was) but she threw an acoustic guitar into the ocean...would that wreck it? And in a Creed clip how the drums are in water.... basically i guess i am wondering if water destroys instruments like that...

That's all smile.gif I've let all my irritation out now smoke2.gif

They do it because they have no consideration for the less wealthy people of the world who can't afford even a fender squier (!!!!111111!!!!1). But if you'll notice, it's only the 'fake' rock bands that do it... like slipknot. angryfire.gif If someone did that at a concert I went to, I'd be pissed to no end... Ungrateful cretins!

When i saw they hives the guitar player destroyed his guitar, but it cut his finger open. He said " This blasting music maker destroyed my hand, for that... i shall kill it". It was funny

why cant bands donate the insteuments to schools or charities, rather than destroyin them, they dont understand the time and effort gone into making a really good instrument.

They have no consideration

I suspect it's done for dramatics

It would be nice if they did donate their musical instruments to schools and stuff, but it doesn't have the same effect if a guitarist stood up and announced that he's donating his guitar to a school, rather than smashing it over his amp.

At a concert I went to, the opening band (small band, I can't remember the name of them), gave their bass to someone in the front row

I too really hate to see beautiful insturments smashed. Especially that commercial where the punk rock guy comes up and takes this Gibson hollow body and just smashes it for no reason, i hate him. But i can make an exception for Nirvana, because they did it funner than anyone else, it wasnt im gonna smash this for no reason, it was im gonna play baseball with a bass and a snare drum, and when chris threw his bass up at the Mtv videos awards and it came back down and hit him in the face, thats good stuff. Nirvana destroys beauty good.

I just wish that they would respect their instruments.
Can't they smash the microphone stand or something?
The paint thing sounds interesting...

I remember when I saw Marilyn Manson on the Guns, God, and Government Tour, John 5 and Manson destroyed almost every instrument and microphone near the stage. It was dope as hell.

Yeah, he put it in the microphone stand and started swinging it around like a baseball bat at the drumkit.
