Franz Ferdinand, Why did they name themselves after him?

Does anybody know why Franz Ferdinand named themselves after the archduke? Was their choice politically motivated or what?

it's not political, they just want to be cool, that's all

Well, they have succeeded i love 'take me out'....especially the way how the change between the start and the first chorus...i just think its really good writing...speaking of which i'll go put it on now!

well so far the band only has their one song take me out...so we'll see if they're just another one hit wonder or if they've got any other good tracks;) i like that song though, very catchy
