Kanye is one of the best artists in music today. He has a fresh, new style and he uses his songs to teach meaningful, deep messages and his own personal life lessons. He is able to have a message and a sense of humor in his lyrics. Kanye is truely muscially and artistically gifted.

Just incase we haven't got the jaw/car accident thing figured out, he got in a car crash and totally smashed his jaw. Two weeks later he recorded the song "Through The Wire" while his jaw was still wired in place (hense the name, "Through The Wire"), and had to use pain killer to get through the second verse of the song. The song begins "I drink a Boost for breakfast, and Insure for dessert. Somebody ordered pancakes, I just sip the sizzurp", and goes on from there about his car accident and injury. Throughout the song you can hear Kanye often slurring his words because of the state of his jaw.
After the reconstructive surgery to his jaw, he was left with metal plate in his chin, which he refers to in through the wire: "When the doctor told me I was gonna have to have a plate in my chin, I said 'Dawg, do you realize I'll never make it one the plane now? It's bad enough I've got all this jewelery on". This is emphasized again in the "All Falls Down" video, where you watch from Kanye's prospective as he tries to go through an airport metal detecter.
