I just wanted to let everyone know that Ray has a new band called "Grupo Chevere." Their CD is gonna drop soon, and they'll be playing on March 12 at the Tejano Awards Fan Fair at Market Square on the Mariachi Stage from 7:15pm - 8.00pm. Be sure and check them out... or visit their website at www.grupochevere.com

In case you didn't know... Ray is also the older brother of Abel Talamantez from Menudo, MDO, and the Kumbia Kings.

That is the problem these days... everyone is listening to rap or that banda crap that sounds like the musicians are not in tune, the drum machine suck, and the singer is pinching his nose to sing.

Just Passing Thru,

Hi! Just a quick note to add that I am very much involved with MUSIC these days...I never stopped writing and producing for different projects, including my own. I still perform on occasion - whenever there is a request, I very much oblige.

The obstacles I ran across years back was that the music that we created was not commercial, etc. etc. I stay true to what I do and in the music that stems from my soul.

Our family is currently working on a musical project so stay tuned!

Added extra note: I am excited that you are down with grupo chevere's sound - I just love it myself and I am sooooo proud of my bro - he's got the magic touch!!

Heard Chevere on the radio, and I think it's pretty cool. I used to see him perform back in the days with La Sombra. Good to know he is still into music.

WELL "esmi" if that is really you. I had heard from my cousin Johnny that you quit playin music cause of other stuff...I won't say here cause I'm a fan. Glad you are still in it. I LOVE Rays new band. That girl can sing, but she has a bad attitude, I tried to meet her after a show and she just walked away. You never did that to anybody. I saw you play once.

Hi "JPT"...

It's really me....I like to read these forums and keep updated with the fans' prospectives, after all, it is the people who listen to the tunes that count. Anyways, it is a little discerning to hear that you were dissed by Sonia...I am sure it was not intentional. Whatever the case, I will pass the word to my brother because even if it was not intentional, those are things that an artists has to pay special attention to.

As for me, the biggest thrill of playing live was interacting with everybody.

I really appreciate you keeping 'hersay' off the board..that's really cool.

Talk to you soon,

Esmi
